A cyclist was struck on the neck by a person in an overtaking vehicle on the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire border.

At around 7pm on Wednesday, August 4, a man in his 40s was cycling westbound along A4129 Risborough Road, east of Thame and the railway bridge, when the suspected vehicle, which was also travelling westbound, overtook him.

As the vehicle passed the cyclist, the front seat passenger leaned out of the window and struck the victim to the neck with his hand.

The man did not suffer any injuries.

The person in question in the front seat has been described as a white male, in his early to mid-20s and was wearing a black face mask.

The car has been described as a grey BMW 320D with the registration number of BD07 WFD.

Investigating officer, PC Dan Beglan, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage, to please come forward.
