A noisy neighbour has been slapped with a fine for shouting and swearing too loudly.

Thomas Harrington, aged 42, of High Street, Weedon, was fined £60 for breaching a criminal behaviour order which prevented him from loudly shouting or swearing near his address.

Appearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on May 13, Harrington was found to have breached the order on May 11 when he was shouting and swearing in public or in the vicinity of his address in Weedon, disturbing his neighbours.

Admitting the breach, Harrington was fined £60 and told to pay £128 costs to the court.

Harrington was issued with a criminal behaviour order in December 2020 after subjecting his neighbours to sustained period of anti-social behaviour.

The order, issued by Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, prevented him from shouting or swearing in public near his address, and he was also banned from causing excessive noise by banging on his walls, through use of his TV or any other electronic device.

He is also prohibited from entering the boundaries of a property belonging to another person without permission from the owner, occupant or tenant.

After the two-year order was issued in 2020, police officers said that they “will not tolerate” anti-social behaviour.

Speaking at the time the order was made, PC Glen Crosland, based at Aylesbury Police Station, said: “We took a proactive approach in dealing with an ongoing problem that had been subjecting the residents of High Street in Weedon to anti-social behaviour for a lengthy period of time.

“Hopefully they will now be able to get some respite from this behaviour and feel safe in their homes and as they go about their daily lives.

“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate such anti-social behaviour and will take action to prevent this from occurring through the courts where appropriate.”
