Hundreds have been taking part in a Pride march through the town centre of High Wycombe.

People were seen with flags, banners and facepaint walking through Wycombe in a joyous mood.

The event that celebrates and helps raise awareness for the LGBTQ community started at 12pm in Frogmoor and finished at Paul's Row.

In Paul's Row a number of stalls have been set up with local organisations, trade unions and businesses in attendance.

Speakers are being hosted at O'Neills bar with the party continuing there into the afternoon and an after-party for over 18s this evening.

The event will also be raising money for the charity Mermaids, which supports young transgender people and their families.

The official High Wycombe Pride Facebook page posted: "This amazing charity, Mermaids, is the chosen charity we are raising money for on the August 21.

"A wonderful charity that supports not only young trans people but the parents of those young people.

"We are raising money through sponsorship, on the day donations and through this online facility."
