“Legal action” is being taken against a nurse after a man from Bucks died in America.
An “extensive investigation” has been underway for some time after Ian Dickson, from Beaconsfield, passed away aged 76 on November 4, 2018, while he was in the United States.

At Beaconsfield Coroners’ Court this afternoon (Wednesday), a pre-inquest review was held by coroner Crispin Butler, who provided an update on proceedings following Mr Dickson’s death.
According to the coroner, “ongoing litigation” has been underway against a nurse in relation to Mr Dickson’s passing.
Mr Butler said: “His death has been the subject of an extensive investigation and litigation in the US regarding treatment following a fall.

“My understanding is there was ongoing litigation against a nurse, and this may now be the subject of a settlement.”
Mr Butler outlined how he would seek to prepare a report on the matter when he had more information, but stated that he does not have the jurisdiction to pursue evidence in the USA.
He stated that he would instead utilise evidence gathered from within England and Wales, including accounts from Mr Dickson’s family.
Mr Butler stated that a future hearing would be arranged on a date “to be confirmed” once legal proceedings in the US have concluded.
