A man has been sent to prison for 30 weeks after stealing cigarettes, alcohol and cash from two newsagents in Chesham.
Shaun Walker, aged 36, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to three counts of burglary at High Wycombe Magistrates Court last Thursday (September 2).
The burglaries took place between May 18 and July 18 as Walker broke into Waterside News and Broadway Newsagents on multiple occasions.
Detective Sergeant Wendy Fellowes from the Amersham Priority Crime Team said: “Newsagents are the heart of our communities and have been essential during the pandemic.
“The sentence given reflects the impact on the businesses, the seriousness of the offences committed and the greed of the offending.
“Thames Valley Police works tirelessly to bring offenders to justice.”
