Fly-tippers who dumped all sorts of rubbish in Bucks, including a fridge, freezer and a mattress have been fined thousands of pounds.

Over the past few weeks, several of the unlawful dumpers have been produced at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court where they have been made to face the consequences of their actions.

See below for a list of fly-tippers who have been ordered to pay up.

Jamie Hancey, from Rokesby Road in Slough, was found to have dumped a fridge, a freezer, a mattress and two cardboard boxes in Burnham.

The 36-year-old was given a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, after he dumped the waste in Crow Place Lane in February.

The offender dumped the fridge and freezer during the night on February 2. He then returned to the same place on February 10 to dispose of the mattress and boxes.

Hancey had denied two charges of depositing controlled waste without an environmental permit and was due for a summary trial at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court. He was then found guilty after he failed to turn up for his trial.

On August 4, Hancey was ordered to pay £2,922 costs by the magistrates, on top of the suspended sentence.

Thomas Donovan, 40, of Waspeys Wood Caravan Site in Gerrards Cross was fined just £300 when he was caught fly tipping on three separate occasions.

On November 11, 2019, Donovan tipped a mixed load of building work waste in Andrew Hill Lane in Hedgerley. He also dumped more mixed building waste in the same spot on the same day.

On November 20, 2019, he went and dumped more building waste in St Huberts Lane, Gerrards Cross.

At Wycombe Magistrates’ Court, Donovan was ordered to pay a £100 fine for each of the three offences. He was also made to pay a further £824 costs by the magistrates.

Leonardo Colucci, 57, of Huntingdon Crescent in Bletchley was fined £846, told to pay £177.90 compensation and ordered to pay £1,166 costs after he was found to have fly tipped on July 22, 2019.

Colucci, of Leo’s Skip Hire, denied the charge but was found guilty at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 23.

The court heard how he unlawfully dumped garden waste in Harrowden, Bradville.

John North, 34, of Knowles Close in West Drayton was fined £480 and ordered to pay a further £1,048 costs after he was found to have dumped waste in Iver.

North was caught on video by a member of the public fly-tipping building insulating material in Ford Lane on July 28, 2020.

The defendant admitted the offence at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on June 30 and apologised for what he had done.

On social media, Bucks Council thanked the member of the public who caught North on camera.
