A High Wycombe drug dealer who was caught with more than 50 wraps of crack cocaine and opiates in his car has been spared jail.

Shoaib Mahmood, 23, of Spearing Road was sentenced to two years in prison, suspended for two years at Amersham Law Courts on Thursday, September 16 after he pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

On April 29, 2019, police officers saw Mahmood behaving suspiciously inside a car, which was parked in Desborough Avenue.

When Mahmood saw the officers he fled the scene – leaving 52 drugs wraps in the car. Police recovered both crack cocaine and diamorphine.

Officers gave chase to the offender, arresting him after they found him hiding in a nearby garden. Police then searched his home, where £1,000 was discovered and seized.

As well as the suspended sentence, Mahmood was also ordered to carry out 250 hours of unpaid work, fined £150 and put under a curfew for six months.

Following the sentencing, PC Martin Greaves, of the Stronghold team, which tackles organised crime, said: “Thames Valley Police will pursue those that blight society by supplying drugs to the vulnerable. We know who you are, we will arrest you and we will bring you before the courts.

“Those that supply drugs do so for the sole selfish reason of financial gain without any thoughts about the destruction and distress it brings to society.

“If members of the public have information about drugs offences then this can be shared with Thames Valley Police on our website or by calling 101.”
