Bucks Council has published an update on progress at the new Chilterns Lifestyle Centre, in Amersham - including a major recruitment drive and parking charges.

As well as listing a series of new roles, details on future parking arrangements, including Pay & Display machines on King George V Road, have been released.

Available jobs include lifeguards, swim teachers, a spa manager, café staff and catering, health and fitness instructors, and coaches.

“The new centre manager James Sexton has been appointed and is working hard to build and expand the team needed to provide the wide range of activities that residents will be able to enjoy from early November,” a report states.

Bucks Free Press: Parking

The Chiltern Pools and Community Centre buildings are to be demolished to create a new 270-space car park for the centre, expected to open autumn 2022.

Charges will be:

  • No free 30 minutes
  • Up to 1 hour £0.70
  • Up to 2 hours £1.40
  • Up to 3 hours £2.00
  • Up to 4 hours £2.50

And the car park at the council offices on King George V Road is set to become Pay & Display from next month “to provide additional car parking for the public and visitors of the new centre”, documents state.

Charges will apply Monday-Friday, 7.30am-6pm, but will be free on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

Charges will be:

  • 30 minutes free
  • Up to 1 hour £0.70
  • Up to 2 hours £1.40
  • Up to 3 hours £2.00

The centre is due to be completed by late October and open by early November.
