Thames Valley Police have conducted reassurance patrols in Downley after reports of burglary in the area.

Police have also been knocking on doors to hand out prevention advice.

A Thame Valley Police spokesman said: "Following reports of two burglary offences in the Downley area, the local Neighbourhood Policing team have been conducting reassurance patrols, and going house to house giving out burglary prevention advice.

"With the nights drawing in, we’d recommend protecting your home with preventative measures.

"Make sure you leave lights on, or use a timer switch if you go out during the evening or night.

"Ensure you keeps doors and windows locked.

"Lock away ladders, garden tools, and other items burglars could use to gain access to your home."
