Staff at the Kings Hotel in Stokenchurch have released their first message in the wake of the devastating fire at the weekend.
The fire started in the kitchen at the newly-refurbished hotel and wedding venue on Friday evening and an investigation is underway into the cause.
In their first message since the blaze, the hotel has posted on its website to say it will obviously be shut for the foreseeable future.

They wrote: "We are closed at the moment. We are sorry to say that the hotel suffered a devastating fire at the weekend and as a result, won’t be re-opening for the foreseeable future. More information will follow…."
Fortunately, all staff and guests were evacuated and all were accounted for with no injuries reported.
But the historic hotel, which had just recently welcomed guests back after a huge restaurant and bar refurbishment, has been largely destroyed.
