Demands to manage HS2 traffic have been levelled at the council.

Cllr Alison Wheelhouse will grill cabinet member for transport Cllr Steve Broadbent about HS2 lorry movements in Beaconsfield, during an October 19 cabinet meeting.

The local Independent wants to know how much HS2 traffic will use the A355/London End junction after an appeal against the council’s refusal to approve HS2 lorry routes was upheld, she said.

Cllr Wheelhouse also wants to know how Conservative Cllr Broadbent will manage “increasing” HS2 traffic on the A355, including stopping it from “using other routes” in Beaconsfield.

“Given that the Planning Inspector has recently upheld HS2’s appeal against the council’s failure or refusal to approve HS2 lorry routes, what next steps will the council take to obtain and provide clearer, reliable information on how much HS2 traffic is expected to use the A355/London End junction in Beaconsfield?” wrote Cllr Wheelhouse.

She added: “And what measures will you take to manage the increasing level of HS2 traffic on the A355 in Beaconsfield, including preventing lorries using other routes in the town?”

It is expected Cllr Broadbent will respond during the meeting.
