1. Ultimatum issued to broadband companies causing ‘chaos’ on Oxford Road
'Chaos' on Oxford Road has prompted the Reading councillor for transport to issue an ultimatum to the companies responsible.
Traffic has been stalled for weeks by Instalcom laying broadband cables for City Fibre across several areas around Reading.

2. Dad’s anger at Deliveroo riders 'using disabled bay like car park’
A 74-year-old man with a physical disability told of his anger at delivery drivers using a disabled parking bay in Reading illegally.
Since John Lyttle was hit by a bus while working on a public highway, he hasn’t been able to walk further than short distances.

3. Off-duty nurses and unknown man save life of Reading teacher after cardiac arrest while running
The family of a secondary school teacher is appealing to find the good Samaritan who “saved his life”.
Guy Vickers-Jones, 43, suffered a cardiac arrest while out running on September 29 and has remained in intensive care ever since with possible brain damage.

4. Woman lost 'everything' in devastating Oxford Road fire
The occupant of the house destroyed by ‘crazy’ flames in a devastating fire has lost ‘everything’.
Firefighters put out the blaze which ripped through the Oxford Road home late at night on Tuesday, October 19.

5. Covid cases in Reading rise sharply
New cases of Covid-19 are rising sharply in Reading according to the most recent data released by Public Health England.

There were 66 per cent more infections on October 11 (136) than there were on October 10 (82).
