I HAVE, for the first time in a long while, just walked along the footpath connecting Watchet Lane and Parish Piece in Holmer Green.
If the gate-locking curfew is still in operation it is not achieving its stated objective because the footpath is awash with dog poo.
Holmer Green is a pretty village and a great place to live but sadly we have an extraordinarily high number of inconsiderate dog owners.
Apart from the stink if you happen to inadvertently step in a parcel and take it home with you, dog excrement is known to be harmful to young children and, because the footpath connects the schools and leads to the nursery, a lot of children use it.
Come on dog owners, you know who you are, clear up after your dogs. I have said before and I'll say again, I believe that a couple of dog litter bins such as we have on The Common may help.
