An Aylesbury man has been convicted of rape after being found guilty by unanimous jury verdict following a four-day trial
Callum Leslie, aged 28, of Prebendal Avenue, met a woman on a night out in Aylesbury on November 23, 2017, and went back to her house where he then raped her in the early hours of the morning.
Leslie was charged with the offence on April 19, 2021, and was convicted at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (October 22)
A date for sentencing has not yet been set.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Justine Haw, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “After a very lengthy investigation starting in 2017, during which the victim has shown incredible courage and resilience, I am pleased that justice has been achieved with Leslie being convicted of this heinous sexually violent crime.
“At no point has he shown any remorse for his actions and he has caused on-going suffering for the victim through her having to stand in court giving intimate personal detail.
“I would like to thank the victim for her unwavering support and strength through the investigation and I hope that she can now move on with her life.”
