Police have made an arrest in Bucks after fireworks were thrown in the street in the Aylesbury area.

On Friday night, Thames Valley Police officers in the Aylesbury Vale detained a male who had been throwing pyrotechnics in the street.

On social media the force reassured the public that it is dealing "rigorously" with firework-related anti-social behaviour.

It said: "A male has been detained for throwing fireworks in the street.

"This is contrary to the Explosives Act 1875. We are aware that there are a large amount of firework ASB occurring. We will rigously deal with all reports of irresponsible firework use."
