Police have been seen guarding a house in High Wycombe after a woman was reportedly assaulted, Thames Valley Police has confirmed.

Officers were seen standing on watch outside a home in Chequers Avenue, in the Wye Dene estate, this afternoon (Saturday).

Thames Valley Police has since confirmed that officers are carrying out an investigation following an alleged assault which took place in Chequers Avenue at around 4am this morning.

A woman was reported to have been assaulted in the early hours.

Police remained present in the street this afternoon at around 3pm, with uniformed officers seen standing guard outside a house and other officers in white suits seen getting out of a van and entering the property.

Thames Valley Police has confirmed it is carrying out an investigation and has urged any witnesses who saw anything or has footage from the area to contact the force by calling 101 and quoting the reference number 361 (6/11).
