A High Wycombe man has been jailed after he broke into a property of an owner who had passed away a few days before.

Terry Gray, aged 43 of Abercromby Avenue, High Wycombe broke into the home on Station Road last month.

Officers attended the home after reports of the break-in and arrested the man on October 5.

He was charged two days later and has been jailed to 21 weeks’ in prison after he pleaded guilty to burglary.

Investigating officer, PC Stuart Baron based at High Wycombe police station, said: “Burglary is a crime which affects its victims very personally. In this instance, Gray burgled a property only a few days after the tenant had died.

“I am satisfied that this case has led to a successful prosecution of Gray for his crime which caused further stress to a grieving family.

“I hope the fact that Gray has been prosecuted and sent to prison will allow the family to have one less thing to worry about during this already distressing time for them.”
