Hundreds turned out to see panto stars Jake Wood and Jake Canuso turn on High Wycombe's Christmas lights alongside Chairboys manager Gareth Ainsworth.

Ainsworth performed a number of songs either side of the switch-on which saw the town light up.

The event kicked off at 3pm with live performances on the High Street stage including Jackie Palmer’s Stage School and the BNU Swans Cheerleaders.

There were over 25 Christmas gift stalls, children rides and an appearance from Father Christmas and Mrs Claus.

Captain Hook's 12ft wooden ship led the panto Peter Pan parade, with more than 100 'pirates and Tinkerbells' from Widmer End School, Marsh Infant School and Manor Farm Junior School joining in.

The main stage in Frogmore had performances from 10 local dance, music and drama groups, including the Glee Club Choir, Razzmatazz, The Blend Choir, Castle Street Dancers and Duck Musik.

High Wycombe’s mayor Cllr Andrea Baughan and Chairman of Buckinghamshire Council, Cllr Zahir Mohammed then took to the stage to join the famous faces for the big festive switch-on.

Locals then were left to enjoy the newly switch on lights on the High Street as performances from Gareth Ainsworth and co carried on into the night.
