A Wycombe High student has managed to raise £350 for the town’s homeless charity.
Leila, who is in year eight at the school, took part in the annual Big Sleepout with her dad and two friends, to help those who are either sleeping on the streets, or are sofa surfing across the town and beyond.
The group slept in cardboard boxes in the cold weather to raise awareness.

Leila’s Just Giving page, which was co-created with her father, Bob, reads: “Wycombe Homeless Connection helps people across south Buckinghamshire who are homeless, or facing homelessness by stopping homelessness before it starts, reducing the harm homelessness can do, helping find homes for people who don’t have their own, defending the rights of people who are homeless or at risk of losing their home.
“We believe every person has worth, has a right to a home, and with your help we can make this a reality.”
The duo’s goal was to raise £100 for the charity, but instead, £400 has been donated.
The Homeless Connection are also the same charity that the school will be raising funds for when their Christmas Concert Live event takes place on December 8.
