Wycombe Wanderers' away match at Sheffield Wednesday was briefly halted due to a "crowd disturbance" according to reports.

A spokesman allegedly told Sky Sports that it was a "crowd disturbance" not a "medical emergency" that caused the game to be paused.

An eyewitness said: "Two fans were having a fight in the North Stand and it escalated."

UPDATE:

With 37 minutes on the clock and with the Chairboys leading 1-0 thanks to a deflected Anis Mehmeti strike, the fixture was paused after several Wednesday fans, as well as Wanderers' Jason McCarthy, alerted referee Darren Drysdale to an incident in the North Stand.

Medics and stewards ran over, whilst the players left the pitch.

A round of applause came from all for corners of the stadium as the mood changed very quickly.

Play resumed around 10 minutes later.

More on this as we get it.
