A Beaconsfield author has written a book about bullying at an all-girls grammar school.

The book, Shakespeare’s Clock, sees three women return to school to re-explore the bullying that left major ramifications on their lives.

There are a number of all-girls grammar schools in the area but the book focuses on a girl’s battle against bullying in the 1960s.

It also revisits the women in their thirties during the 1980s to see how they are coping after their difficult time in school.

The author, Jan Moran Neil said: “The kind of bullying that went on at all-girls grammar school is different to the online bullying today but it is still bullying.

“Bullying in the past can shape your future and a tragic incident can take place and in the book it really affects the three woman’s lives.”

Jan has been writing the book for around 20 years as it was originally intended to be a screenplay.
