MINOR drug offences are quite common in Magistrates’ Courts.

Most people who plead guilty to drug possession are fined for their offence -- but some get other sentences.

Here are the people from Berkshire who have been in the dock in the past three months after being caught with cannabis, cocaine or heroin.

Sentenced in August

Donovan Lee, 48, of Wensley Road, Reading, admitted possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis in Slough on June 26, 2020. Community order made. Required to take part in up to rehabilitation activity days. Must pay £295 in court fees. Banned from driving for two years.

KAYLEIGH STEPHENS, 34, of Russell Street, Reading, admitted possession of cocaine, in Reading on August 20, 2019. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Banned from driving for ten months. Must pay court fees of £630.

Sentenced in September

KEVIN ABONE, 24, of Spey Road, Reading, admitted possession of cannabis in Reading on January 27, 2021. Fined £100 and ordered to pay £119 in court fees.

ROBERT PIGGOTT, 32, of Bath Road, Reading, admitted possession of cannabis in Bournemouth on August 27, 2021. Fined £300 and must pay £119 in court fees.

CAVAN GRUBER, 20, of Mason Street, Reading, admitted possession of cannabis at Paddington Station, London, on April 20, 2021. Fined £80 and must pay £119 in court fees.

NAHAD SALIM, 23, of Norreys Avenue, Wokingham, admitted possession of cannabis at Reading train depot on January 11, 2021. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work. Must pay £180 in court fees.

PETER CRIPPS, 40, of Romsey Road, Tilehurst admitted possession of heroin at Tilehurst Station, Oxford Road, on April 2, 2021. Fined £69 and must pay £119 in court fees.

KIRKPATRICK VIRGO, 41, of Frimley Drive, Slough, convicted of possession of heroin and crack cocaine in Slough on October 9, 2019. Fined £621, ordered to pay a £37 victim surcharge and £775 court costs.

JEROME DENNIS, 38, of Thirlmere Avenue, Reading, convicted of possession of cocaine in Maidstone on August 13, 2019. Community order made. Must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay court fees of £710.

Sentenced in October

SCOTT LAURIE, 33, of Park Way, Newbury, admitted failing to take part in a breath test when required in Lower Earley on April 13, 2021. Also admitted possession of cannabis, resisting a constable, and driving without insurance and a licence in Thatcham on April 13, 2021. Committed to prison for 12 weeks suspended for 24 months. Banned from driving for three years. Must pay court fees of £213.

CALLUM HEATMAN, 29, Victoria Road, admitted possession of cannabis in Twyford on August 30, 2020. Fined £120 and made to pay a £34 victim surcharge.
