A Range Rover driver from Gerrards Cross who was caught driving at more than 110mph on the M40 has avoided a driving ban.

Rizwan Ali, aged 39, of Oak End Way, was caught speeding at 111mph on the motorway on June 6.

Ali, who was driving a Range Rover, was 41mph over the speed limit as he was travelling between Junction 8 and Junction 9 on the M40.

At Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on November 18, Ali pleaded guilty to exceeding the 70mph speed limit.

Despite the dangerous speed he was travelling at, the magistrates decided not to ban Ali from driving, instead fining him £394 and ordering him to pay £129 costs.

His driving record was also endorsed with six points.
