A Bucks town has been named one of the best places in the UK for children this Christmas.

Milton Keynes has ranked in joint fifth place - alongside Cambridge - thanks to its "incredibly good access" to all the typical stores children want to explore during the festive period.

The new study by OVO Network has looked at the access families have to toy shops, sweet shops, child-friendly attractions, Santa and the likelihood of festive weather to find the best places for festive celebrations in 2021.

Access to shopping centres and toy stores is way above the national average.

Milton Keynes offers around five toy stores per 10,000 kids - eclipsing the national average of just over three.

Shopping centres (and therefore the likelihood of Santa’s Grottos) are also way over the national average with children having the 4th best access in the country - seven per 10,000 children.

There are also over 11 kid friendly attractions per 10,000 kids this Christmas with the top rated including.

This is actually amongst the top performers in the UK with better access than Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool.

The only thing holding Milton Keynes back from getting in the top five, the skiing experts at OVO have revealed that the likelihood of snow is pretty low this year in comparison to other places.

After the cancellation of Milton Keynes Christmas markets last year, this festive period is bound to be one to remember as they return this year.
