A burglar who broke into a High Wycombe house and was carrying a knife has been jailed.

Jamal Ahmed, aged 32, of no fixed abode, has been locked up for seven years after he pleaded guilty to two offences.

Ahmed admitted to charges of aggravated burglary and possession of a bladed article after he broke into a home in Rutland Avenue, High Wycombe, on August 7.

The offender appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court this afternoon (Friday) and was sentenced by Judge Geoffrey Payne.

After receiving a seven-year prison sentence, Ahmed will be eligible for release on licence after three-and-a-half years behind bars.
