Beaconsfield Town FC along with several members of the Wycombe Wanderers first team have paid tribute to the former footballer, Marvin Morgan, who has died aged 38.

Morgan, who played for the Rams in the 2018/19 season, passed away at the age of 38 on December 6, with the cause of death being undisclosed.

The striker represented 18 different clubs across his playing career where he scored 102 goals in 408 appearances, before hanging up his boots last summer.

However, the journeyman forward is best known for launching the clothing business, Fresh Ego Kid, which has been a booming success.

Fresh Ego Kid, which is based in the capital, have shipped out items of clothing to 54 countries across the world, whilst popular names such as Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, boxer Anthony Joshua and David Beckham’s son, Cruz have promoted the brand.

A statement on Twitter from Beaconsfield Town FC reads: “The club is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of former player Marvin Morgan.

“Marvin was highly respected amongst his peers and throughout the football leagues and our thoughts go out to Marvin’s family, friends and all who knew him at this extremely difficult time.”

Wycombe striker Adebayo Akinfenwa said: “My heart is so heavy right now, this one is so hard to take in.

“My brother for life, a true inspiration & a laugh which would light up a room.

“Rest in power, sleep well.”

Centre back, Anthony Stewart shared his sadness of the news by saying, ‘rest well, brother,’ whilst Joe Jacobson described Morgan as a ‘real hero’.

In the Football League, Morgan played for Aldershot Town, Dagenham & Redbridge, Shrewsbury Town, Plymouth Argyle and Hartlepool United.
