Ricky was pictured at the Royal Standard of England pub in Forty Green with owner Anna O’Keeffe, after what staff said was a “lovely and good humoured morning” of filming, on April 28.

On April 29, comedian Ricky was spotted alongside Penelope Wilton - who plays Anne - sitting at the familiar bench in the grounds of St Mary's and All Saints Church in Beaconsfield where, in the show, they regularly meet for chats.

Then, a few weeks later, he was seen again. Over the road this time standing outside Beaconsfield Old Town Registration Office in Windsor End.

The registry office is used as the set for Autumnal Leaves Care Home in the series, where Gervais’s character’s father lives.

Pedestrians were asked to keep their distance while filming took place, but the comedian was happy to pose for selfies between shots.

In the show, Marlow resident Gervais plays local newspaper reporter Tony Johnson, who struggles to come to terms with the loss of his wife Lisa.
