Police are hunting for a man with a “long, skinny nose” following an attempted break-in in High Wycombe.

On Saturday, at around 7.45pm, a would-be burglar tried to break into a house in Campbell Close by using garden shears to try and get through the kitchen window.

Fortunately, the offender was not able to get through into the property, but he damaged the window during his attempt to secure access.

The man is described as white, of skinny build and aged between 28 and 38. He has mousey hair, a long skinny nose and is between 5ft 6ins and 5ft 8ins tall.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Andrew Cummins based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who witnessed or knows anything about this incident to please come forward.

“To report any information you can call 101 or make a report online, quoting reference  43210560970.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
