A man was punched in the face as he got out of a taxi near a Beaconsfield bar - and then attacked by a group of men who left him unconscious.

At around 1am this morning (December 19), the man - in his forties - was getting out of a cab outside Revolution in Maxwell Road when he was confronted by a man he didn't know and was punched in the face.

He fell to the floor and was then attacked by a group of men who left him unconscious in the street.

He had to be taken to hospital with injuries to his face and he is still there now for treatment.

The attackers are described as a group of four or five men, all aged in the twenties. One was wearing a white puffa-style jacket.
