This December, personnel from RAF High Wycombe celebrated the festive season by delivering hampers of Christmas treats to local RAF veterans.

The festive fun was supported by the RAF Benevolent Fund, the RAF’s leading welfare charity, which provided a grant of £500 towards the initiative.

Around 25 local veterans received a Christmas hamper from RAF High Wycombe, which were delivered by the Station Commander, Officer Commanding Base Support Wing, and Station Warrant Officer.

Dani Bowman, Community Development Officer at RAF High Wycombe, said: "The generosity of the RAF Benevolent Fund has enabled the RAF High Wycombe Community Support Team to offer Christmas cheer to our local veterans who we usually host in the Officers' Mess.

"Sadly due to Covid-19 we were unable to host them on station this year, so instead we decided to put Christmas in a box for our veterans.

"The packages included everything from cake, chocolate, shortbread and spiced biscuits to festive shaped pasta!

"Delivering the hampers also enabled us to check in with how they are all doing, and they loved having a chat on the doorstep."
