Christmas is a time of peace, joy, and goodwill. Well, for most of us it is.

Although it should be an occasion of celebration, where friends and family enjoy each other’s company (Covid restrictions permitting), unfortunately some lawbreakers just cannot help themselves.

We owe it to the hard-working police to give them a quiet Christmas, but in Bucks last year, there was an unwelcome selection of criminals who would not let the emergency services rest.

Drink drivers, stalkers, and even violent criminals were caught breaking the law on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day last year – see below for the full list of undesirables, who are almost certainly on Santa’s naughty list in 2021.

Christmas Eve:

Callum Sparrow, 19, of Cressex Road in High Wycombe, was caught speeding at 39mph in a 30mph zone on Cores End Road in Bourne End.

The young Ford Fiesta driver admitted a charge of speeding and was fined £115. He was also told to pay £124 in costs.

At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on November 3, Sparrow was also given a 14-day driving ban.

Christmas Day:

Paul Woodcock, aged 38, of Gurnards Avenue, Milton Keynes, used violence to get into someone else’s home.

On Christmas Day, Woodcock use violent means to get into a property in Babylon Grove, knowing that the person inside did not want him to come in. He also committed an act of assault by beating on the same day.

Woodcock denied the two charges, but at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on October 21, he was found guilty of both offences and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work within the next year.

Kyle Piper, aged 25, of West View, Chesham, failed to give information relating to the identification of a driver when required by a police officer in Amersham.

Piper was found guilty at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 20 and was fined £161, ordered to pay £124 costs and given six points on his licence.

Paramu Kkulasingham, aged 54, of Nevis Grove, Bletchley, was caught drink driving on Christmas Day in Fishermead Boulevard.

When he was ordered to take a breath test, the Vauxhall driver gave a reading of 83 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

At Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on June 24, Kkulasingham pleaded guilty to drink driving and was fined £162, ordered to pay £384 in costs and was banned from driving for 20 months.

He also admitted to driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, for which he received no separate penalty.

Joshua Rust, aged 20, of Margarita Gardens, Bletchley, was given a big bill after he assaulted an emergency worker.

The offender pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer in Milton Keynes at a hearing at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on July 5.

Rust was ordered to pay £75 in compensation and £695 in costs. He was also told to carry out 70 hours of unpaid work within the next year.

Boxing Day:

Warner was driving a BMW when he was captured on a speed camera driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone.

At Oxford Magistrates’ Court on July 16, Warner was also given three points on his licence on top of the fines and costs.

Craig Griffiths, aged 43, of Wolverton Road, Stony Stratford, was given a restraining order after he committed two assaults and an act of criminal damage the day after Christmas.

Griffiths admitted to assaulting the same victim twice in one day, and to damaging a door belonging to the same victim, at a hearing at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court on September 8.

The offender was given a restraining order against his victim. He was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.

In addition, Griffiths was told to pay £200 in compensation and £180 costs for his offending.
