A man who exposed his genitals in Marlow has been added to the sex offenders register but has avoided going to prison.

Stephen Johnson, aged 59, of Meteor Close in Wokingham, exposed himself in front of a member of the public with the intention of causing alarm or distress in Marlow on June 25, 2020.

At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on November 30, Johnson pleaded guilty to one count of exposure, and was sentenced by the magistrates.

The court heard how the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, felt intimidated by the act.

The offender had originally denied the charge against him, but changed his mind and made a guilty plea before the magistrates.

Johnson was slapped with a community order, told to pay a £405 fine and ordered to pay £215 costs.

He was also added to the sex offenders register for five years.
