Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed that assistant manager Richard Dobson and first team coach Matt Bloomfield missed the draw against Sunderland due to Covid-19.

The duo had taken charge of the Chairboys in the two previous matches against Ipswich and Charlton respectively, when manager Gareth Ainsworth tested positive for the virus.

Analyst Josh Hart also missed the match against Sunderland due to a suspected positive case.

In a brief tweet that was published before the lunchtime kick off, Wanderers said: “Assistant manager Richard Dobson, coach Matt Bloomfield, and analyst Josh Hart are all absent today with suspected positive Covid cases.”

However, alongside Ainsworth in the dugout for the Sunderland fixture was development team coach Sam Grace, and goalkeeper coach Lee Harrison.

After the draw, Ainsworth said: “Dobbo gets the boring 1-0s and I get the exciting 3-3s! But I am sure he was jumping around the living room.

“Sam Grace has stepped up and Lee Harrison is always there and they were great.”

It is not known if the trio will be back in time for Wycombe’s visit to Bolton on January 11.
