A hardware and DIY business is set to close its doors for the final time following 25 years of trading due to financial constraints caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Hunt's Hardware in Marlow announced the news on their Facebook page saying the "devastating financial aftermath" is affecting not just them but independent shops everywhere.

Locals have quickly reacted to the sad news with many leaving their best wishes to the family that runs the business.

The post reads: "It is with great sadness that Hunt’s Hardware will close business, after a quarter of a century of trading in Marlow, in the very near future, due to Covid’s devastating financial aftermath, which is affecting all independent shops."

Hunt's of Marlow first opened up in 1996 with a small shop in Spittle Street before opening a second store on the other side of the street in 2002.

In 2006, the business combined both stores and moved into one larger location in Station Road where it has remained.

The store has not yet announced which day it will officially shut for good only saying it will be in the "very near future".
