A planning application details the conversion of the former schoolhouse for education use.

It was most recently used as caretaker accommodation but now shows signs of vandalism and damage and could pose a public risk.

“The schoolhouse was previously occupied by the school caretaker but is currently un-used and is now showing signs of vandalism and damage,” documents state. “There are considerable safeguarding and security issues together with public liability implications and the potential for personal injury claims.”

It adds: “The scheme is to completely refurbish the property both externally and internally to a good standard including some removal of internal wall to provide additional accommodation to the existing school. The local traditional external appearance of the house is to remain after refurbishment.”

Kings Education Trust is now awaiting a decision from the council.
