THE council has apologised over the state of a road damaged by HGV traffic.
Bucks Council said it is “very sorry” for the condition of the B416 in Stoke Green, Slough, after driver Michael Tawroginski took it to task on social media.
Mr Tawroginski said lorries had badly damaged the road near Slough Crematorium going to a new county park site nearby, adding he had almost twice lost a wheel on his van while taking his son to school.

He claimed the problem was “getting worse every week” and that he had had trouble reporting the matter on the council website.
Bucks Council has since promised to fix any defects in the area.

“The B416 next to Slough Crematorium is badly damaged by 30-40-tonne lorries,” said Mr Tawroginski. “It is getting worse every week.
“Almost twice I lost my left wheel in the van while giving my son a lift to school. There are huge holes, in the pavement too.
“Slough Council replied that this belongs to Bucks Council but when I tried to report it on its webpage, the system rejected this road as their area.”
He added: “This is absolutely shocking.”
Mr Tawroginski also said he believes some of the HGV traffic may be due to a nearby “landfill”, believed to refer to the new county park.
Cabinet member for transport Cllr Steven Broadbent: “We are very sorry to hear about the road surface issue on the B416 near Slough Crematorium. This area is inspected monthly, but road surfaces can sometimes become damaged very quickly outside of the regular inspection programme.
“In this particular case, we can confirm that we have received reports on FixMyStreet and will respond accordingly to address any defects. Our plan is to patch and improve the road surface once the temporary HGV traffic is reduced.”
