A boozy shoplifter has stolen more than £500-worth of alcohol from a High Wycombe Sainsbury’s.

Lewis Webb, 30, of Victoria Road in High Wycombe, has been locked up for just under a month after he admitted to stealing alcohol worth £565 from the Sainsbury’s in Oxford Road.

Wycombe Magistrates’ Court heard how Webb stole from the supermarket on three separate occasions in November and December last year.

On November 11, 2021, Webb stole £276-worth of booze, and on both November 27, 2021 and December 20, 2021, he lifted alcohol worth £144.

At a court hearing on January 12, Webb pleaded guilty to three counts of theft from a shop, and was ordered to pay £450 in compensation.

The court also heard how Webb was serving a suspended sentence when he committed the crimes, for another theft offence from December 2020.

After he admitted the breach, the magistrates opted to activate the suspended sentence, sending him to prison for 28 days.
