An uninsured driver told police they "just popped down to the shop to grab some milk".

The driver was stopped by Britten Grove community centre in Milton Keynes where he used the excuse.

They were told by officers that the reasoning was "not good enough to drive uninsured".

The driver received a ticket and their vehicle was recovered.

A Thames Valley Police social media post said: "'I just popped down to the shop to grab some milk' unfortunately isn't a good enough excuse to drive uninsured.

"This driver had to walk home but didn't even stop into the shop to grab their milk first.

"Vehicle recovered and ticket issued."
