Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating officer, PC Thomas Piercy, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident to please come forward.

“We believe that there were a number of cars using the Marlow Hill road in both directions when this incident happened.

“We’d also ask any motorists who were in the local area around the time of the incident to check dash-cam footage in case it has captured something that may help the investigation.
