Beaconsfield MP Joy Morrisey has been appointed Boris Johnson's Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) after the Prime Minister reshuffled his Cabinet today (February 8).

This comes as the PM promised a rejig at No 10 amid ongoing pressure over the Downing Street parties held during lockdown.

An unpaid role, a PPS is considered to be a Minister's 'eyes and ears' in Parliament while gaining experience working in government.

Taking to social media post, the MP said: "I am deeply honoured to have been appointed Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.

"There is a lot to deliver as we come out of the pandemic, and I am keen to get on with the job."

Martin Tett, leader of Buckinghamshire Council, said on social media: "Fab news. Bucks MP Joy Morrissey appointed to PMs PPS. Well done Joy!"

Joy Morrisey will be joined by Sarah Dines, Lia Nici, and James Duddridge as PPS.
