If you are looking for a Valentine's treat this weekend then look no further than The Ivy Marlow Garden.

Inspired by the month of love, my girlfriend and I visited the restaurant to sample their limited-edition Valentine's cocktail menu - and it didn't let us down.

In the name of journalism and leaving no stone unturned, we tried all three cocktails which are inspired by some of the world’s most iconic love letters.

First up is ‘Napoleon to Joséphine’ (£9.75), a sparkling serve featuring Altos tequila, passion fruit, cranberry and a splash of prosecco. Tequila fans will love this, a sweet pink drink that was so easy to drink. We could have drank these all night. 8/10.

Next is ‘Oscar Wilde's Secret Affair’ (£9.50) which consisted of Beefeater Gin, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, agave syrup and was topped with a red chilli. This was my personal favourite, a gin-based cocktail with a hint of spice from the actual chilli stalk in the glass. 9/10.

Last on the list is ‘His Immortal Beloved’ (£9.75), inspired by Beethoven, a cocktail with vodka, Amaretto, Baileys Irish cream, coffee liqueur, double cream and honey. A tasty after-dinner drink with a smooth coffee flavour which went down a treat. 8/10.

We also tried The Ivy special sharing dessert, 'Pillow Talk' (£17.95). The indulgent dessert came with peach and raspberry parfait, white chocolate mousse, popping candy and a raspberry sauce. It looked great and it's a shame it's only on the menu for a limited time.

The restaurant has also joined forces with Letters of Note to gift all diners on Valentine's Day an exclusive book, compiled by Shaun Usher, with a collection of the most passionate love letters written in history.

The book has been reimagined by The Ivy Collection and has a bespoke cover and foreword.

Richard Martinez, General Manager at The Ivy Marlow Garden comments: “We are delighted to join forces with Letters of Note in celebration of the most powerful messages of love this Valentine’s Day.

“We look forward to treating our guests to a copy of the book, and a menu of fanciful treats, which will pair perfectly with the much-loved favourite dishes on our menu.”
