Imaginative Bucks residents have come up with hilarious names for the county's gritter lorries this year - paying tribute to iconic music legends and even Chris Whitty.
A competition to name four Transport for Bucks (TfB) gritters saw members of the public choose the names Spready Mercury, David Plowie, Grit Happens and Chris Gritty.
Sixteen pre-selected names were whittled down to just four through a Twitter poll, with more than 2,000 people getting involved in the vote.

Two of the gritters, Spready Mercury and David Plowie, will be based at the Griffin Lane depot in Aylesbury, while the other two gritters will be based at the Amersham and Handy Cross depots.
The gritter lorries were officially unveiled on Friday, February 11.
The names will no doubt delight the residents who voted for the names, but one person who is particularly pleased is gritter lorry driver Alan Foster.

He said: "Thanks very much Bucks for naming my vehicle David Plowie. Bowie is my favourite artist, so I look forward to driving it around Aylesbury and beyond.”
Cllr Steve Broadbent, who was at the unveiling, said: "Thank you to everyone who helped choose the names of four of our gritters. I was impressed by the response from the public and just how hotly contested the voting rounds became. It was also a pleasure to take part in the official unveiling."
He added: “I’d also like to thank our winter crews, who are currently on call 24 hours a day to help keep our roads moving safely.”
