The staff and pupils at a special needs school were delighted after a visit from the Member of Parliament Sarah Green.
The Liberal Democrat MP for Chesham and Amersham visited Chiltern Way Academy at the Wendover Campus on Church Lane to congratulate the educators for the school’s glowing inspection result by the education standards regulator Ofsted.

At the Special Educational Needs (SEN) school Ms Green met the Headteacher Sarah Stevens, Chiltern Way Academy CEO Ian McCaul and other senior management team and toured the facilities.
Afterwards Sara stopped to speak with pupils about the school and to learn how they used its facilities.
Sarah Green MP, who rose to Parliament from the June 2021 by-election, said: “The sheer determination and work ethic of all members of staff has resulted in this ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted result for Chiltern Way Academy.
“The whole community can and should be rightly proud of their achievement.
“I’d like to thank Head Teacher Sarah Stevens and her team for showing me around today.
“It was a pleasure to meet some inspiring young people and see some of the excellent facilities – including the mechanic’s workshop and the music room built by pupils themselves.”

While Chiltern Way Academy covers four sites, the site at Prestwood is for children with SEN needs aged 11 to 16.
The Academy group is on the lookout for local businesses and organisations to help them with work experience placements for pupils looking to get into higher education or into the workplace and those who may be able to help can find more information here.
