The murder of High Wycombe student Libby Squire is set to be examined in a new television show airing later this month.

Killer Britain with Dermot Murnaghan returned to the Crime + Investigation channel on Monday and the horrifying abduction and murder of Libby in Hull in February 2019 by Pawel Relowicz will be the focus of the third episode airing on February 28.

Relowicz dumped University of Hull Philosophy student Libby’s body in the River Hull after raping her on a playing field in the early hours of February 1, 2019.

The 26-year-old Polish butcher was convicted of raping and murdering the 21-year-old student when he chanced upon her after she had been out with friends. He was jailed for life last February with a minimum term of 27 years.

The jury, after a four-week trial at Sheffield Crown Court, dismissed his claim he had consensual sex, and accepted that he cajoled or forced her into his car, drove to isolated playing fields at Oak Road, Hull, then disposed of her dead or dying body in the river.

Before he killed Libby, Relowicz had a history of non-contact sex crimes including voyeurism.

Relowicz had been carrying out a campaign of chilling, sexually-motivated crimes in the student area of Hull, peering through windows to watch young women, breaking in to their homes to steal intimate items, and masturbating in the street.
