Early plans reveal fresh details of a new training facility that could be built in Little Marlow by Wycombe Wanderers.

In documents shared with the Bucks Free Press, it states the club intends to submit a hybrid planning application with Bede Group Sports & Leisure for the development of a sports hub and Country Park on Westhorpe Farm Lane off Marlow Road.

The plans say how Wanderers will own a community football facility with a "state-of-the-art" sports hall and five new pitches.

The existing Little Marlow athletics track will also be upgraded if the plans go ahead.

The land in question is next to the plot where Marlow Studio Project is proposing to build a film studio.

Also in the plans is the creation of a new Country Park with footpaths and cycleways that will link Bourne End, Little Marlow and Marlow to the Thames walk.

An equestrian facility would too be built along with a single dwelling which would be used as the gatekeeper's lodge for the Country Park to oversee the maintenance of the land.

Last August, Wycombe Wanderers chairman, Rob Couhig, said the club was "deep into negotiations on finalising the buildout" on a new training ground.

He said the facility would be a "truly spectacular showpiece."

Over the summer period last year, the club made major upgrades to their current training facility including doubling the size of our medical facility, adding a new boot room, kit room and media room as well as increasing office space for the coaches and staff.

The club has confirmed Rob Couhig will provide an update on the new development next week.
