This is the latest weather forecast according to local experts.

It's safe to say the weather has been pretty awful recently, with two storms, Eunice and Franklin, in quick succession -  causing major damage and disruption.

The team at The Chilterns Weather Alerts on Facebook have been keeping residents in the loop with hour-by-hour reports on the ever-changing weather.

With everyone looking forward to brighter days, the team have shared their latest forecast for this week - and it's "much better than last week".

They said we can expect wids of 55-60mph today, but will die down this afternoon to 33mph.

Harry at the Chilterns Weather Alerts wrote: "It’s a mostly cloudy start around the Chilterns this morning with very blustery winds and drizzle. At the moment we have gusts of around 55-60mph but these will slowly die down from lunchtime onwards. We will keep the cloud cover and the occasional drizzle patch for much of the day but during the afternoon I do expect to see a few sunny spells, fingers crossed! Temperatures will reach 10°.

"This evening and tonight looks like a mostly clear start with temperatures dropping down to around 3°. The cloud will build back up during the early hours of tomorrow morning though for a time.

"Tomorrow will be a day of sunny spells, patchy. Cloud and isolated showers. These showers will be heavy at times so be aware. Highs of 11°. The winds will have died down to 35mph which is an improvement.

"Wednesday on the whole looks like a grey and overcast day to come with not a lot going on. Temperatures will reach 9-10° and it should remain mostly dry.

"Thursday will be a damp start with an area of rain moving east through the uk. We might see a bit of wet snow on the tail end as cold air pushing in behind but nothing significant. This is due to move through by 10am and we will be left with sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures reaching 4-5°.

"Friday looks like a lovely day to come with lots of sunshine in between the fluffy clouds. Staying dry with temperatures reaching 8-9°.

"Saturday will be a cloudy start but the cloud cover will break up through the morning and by lunchtime we will see some beautiful sunshine. Highs of 10°.

"Sunday at the moment is a partly cloudy day with sunny spells on and off for most of the day. Still feeling relatively mild with temperatures reaching 10-11°.

"Wind Gust Forecast: Today 55-60mph but this afternoon fading down to 33mph, Tomorrow 35mph while the rain arrives, Wednesday 26mph, Thursday 32mph, Friday 28mph, Saturday 30mph, Sunday 24mph. The winds will definitely die down which is a relief!

"So not a bad week ahead everyone! Much better than last week!"
