A man has been attacked by a group of men armed with a machete at a High Wycombe petrol station.

On Sunday, at around 12.50am, a man in his forties was confronted by a group of men in the forecourt of the Jet petrol station in Micklefield Road.

The man, who was with his partner, was walking home when two vehicles pulled up behind him and three men wearing balaclavas got out and marched towards him.

One of the men was carrying a machete and thrust it towards the victim, giving him a large cut on his lower arm.

After the blow was dealt, the three men got back in their vehicles and drove off

The offenders were described as Asian men wearing balaclavas and one of the vehicles is described as a silver Audi.

The man was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where he received treatment for a potential chipped bone, and has since been discharged.

Police have appealed for any witnesses to the assault to come forward.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Richard Tulloch, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in this area at this time to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information should call us on 101 or make a report on our website, quoting reference number 43220077637.

“Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
