A 72-year-old woman required surgery after breaking her leg following a crash in Chesham town centre.

The woman was on the high street at around 10:15am on Sunday (February 20) near the taxi rank when she was hit by a Toyota Prius.

Thames Valley Police are currently investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to the crash.

PC John Belson of the Amersham Roads Policing department, said: “This incident occurred in the town centre of Chesham on Sunday morning.

“I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from anybody who was in the area and may have dash-cam footage from the collision to please contact us by making a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220077935.

“I would like to thank everyone who came to assist the pedestrian in what was a particularly stressful incident that occurred in inclement weather.”
