The Marlow Wombles will be taking part in a 'Red Nose Pick' in aid of Comic Relief this year.

Red Nose Day is back on Friday March 18 and the local litter picking group will be wearing Red Noses among other red items whilst they tidy the town.

The group will meet 10.30am at the Ark Cafe or 1.30pm at the Globe Cafe, Globe Business Park for the special litter picking charity event.

An initial target has been sent of £200 as the group hope to send as much as possible to Comic Relief.

On the JustGiving page, organiser Debbie Farnfield said: "You won’t miss us! This year, we’re raising money as part of the Big Red Nose Day Get Together.

"We're joining people up and down the UK to show that smiles have the power to change lives.

"However much you can spare, your donation will help tackle poverty, take action against violence and bring an end to discrimination in the UK and across the world.

"We're fundraising for Red Nose Day because £5 could pay to get twenty meals to vulnerable children and families in the UK.

"£10 could provide 20 reading books for children in community learning centres in Northern Uganda, where free pre-school services are very limited.

"£20 could provide a supportive coffee morning for families in the UK to share advice on caring for their child's mental health.

"Don't forget to tick the Gift Aid option, if you can, so Comic Relief can claim an extra 25 per cent from the government."
