Police Tasered a man who was allegedly running around High Wycombe with a large kitchen knife.

James Scott, of Chairborough Road, High Wycombe, was confronted by officers on Birches Rise at around 1.20pm on Saturday (March 12) following reports from the public.

Officers were forced to Taser the 40-year-old to detain him.

A large kitchen knife was then allegedly found on Scott leading to his arrest.

He has since been charged with possessing a knife in a public place.

He is due to appear at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court today (March 14).

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said on social media: "Multiple calls from the public to report a male running around with a large knife in High Wycombe.

"Officers were quickly on scene and the male was challenged.

"Due to un-compliance the use of Taser was utilised and the male was detained.

"A large Kitchen knife was located on the male and he was swiftly arrested.

"He has subsequently been Charged and Remanded in custody and this is a great example of how calls from the public can lead to great results!"
